Once again, NAMI Indiana will be conducting a
NAMIWalk in Indianapolis. NAMIWalk is a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) walk through the streets of Indianapolis to bring awareness of mental illness and to raise funds for the state and local affiliates.
Last year was the second annual NAMIWalk in Indiana. Our St. Joseph County affiliate had about 15 people participate, and raised about $4000, half of which was returned to our affiliate.
This year we will be walking again. Our goal is to surpass last years totals, both in terms of walkers and pledges.
We are looking for volunteers:
- To Walk
- To help out at the walk
- To solicit donations
The name of our team is the South Bend Strollers. Our goal is to have at least 20 walkers from our affiliate, and to raise $4,000.
To sign up to walk, Click Here to go to the national NAMI web site's registration page. You'll need to create a user ID on the NAMI web site, but don't worry, it doesn't cost anything to register. Make sure you register to join the South Bend Strollers, which should appear in a drop-down box.
To donate, visit This Page. Scroll down to find the name of the walker whom you would like to sponsor, click their name, and fill out the donation form. That's all there is to it.
To volunteer to help or solicit donations, or if you need help signing up to walk or donate, contact Mike Wall at (574) 259-1530, or send an email.
